Who we are.
Cherry Engine Limited is responsible for personal information handled through this website and related enquiries.
Company No. 11751908
International House, 66 Lavender Hill,
SW11 5RQ London, United Kingdom.
This notice covers the Cherry Engine website and enquiries sent to us. Products and external websites featured in the portfolio have their own privacy information.
Information we handle.
If you email or call us, we receive the contact details and information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, organisation and enquiry.
Our hosting provider may record technical information when you visit, such as an IP address, requested page, time of access, browser information and errors. Such records can be used to operate and protect the website.
You do not need to create an account or subscribe to anything to view the portfolio. Providing enquiry information is voluntary, although we need enough information to respond.
Why we use it.
We use enquiry information to answer questions, arrange conversations and discuss potential work. Our legitimate interest is managing business enquiries and professional relationships.
Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract with you, we may process relevant information for those steps. We may also retain records where needed to meet a legal obligation.
Technical records may be used for our legitimate interest in keeping the website available, diagnosing problems and preventing misuse.
Service providers.
Zenbox provides our website hosting and email service in Poland. We use Spark, provided by Spark Mail Limited in Ireland, to manage email correspondence. We do not use Spark's AI features for this correspondence. Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it.
UK adequacy regulations cover transfers to providers in Poland and Ireland. Spark also describes processing on servers in the EEA and the United States, depending on the service and features used. Its published terms describe adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses for onward transfers. Using Spark without AI does not mean all email processing stays on our devices or within Europe.
For the providers' information and transfer terms, see Zenbox's data protection information, Spark's app privacy policy and Spark's data processing agreement. Contact us for further information or a copy of the safeguards relevant to your information.
How long we keep it.
We keep enquiries while needed to answer them and manage any resulting work or ongoing professional relationship. When deciding whether to retain correspondence, we consider whether the enquiry is still active, whether it records an agreement or work delivered, and whether it is needed for a legal record-keeping duty or a dispute. We delete information when it is no longer needed for those purposes.
Technical records are retained according to the hosting service's operational and security requirements. The relevant criteria are the time needed to diagnose faults, investigate misuse and keep the service secure, together with any legal requirement to preserve records. Backup copies may remain until replaced through the provider's backup cycle.
Your rights.
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access your personal information, correct it, request deletion, restrict its use or receive it in a portable form.
Your right to object
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us at info@cherryengine.co.uk to make a request or discuss your information.
Contact & complaints.
For privacy questions or requests, email info@cherryengine.co.uk or write to our registered address above.
You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner's Office. Visit ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint for its complaint routes and contact information.
We will update this notice when the website or the way we handle information changes.
